Nick graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2017. He worked at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Logan Hospital before entering General Practice in 2021. He completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) after extended training at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre. Nick enjoys all areas of General Practice, and has a special interest in mental health and sexual health. He enjoys running and bouldering in his free time.

Dr Fleming completed her medical training at Trinity College Dublin and specialist general practice training in Ireland. She has worked mainly in Northern Queensland and spent the last 23 years in Townsville but has moved to be closer to her children. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and is looking forward to joining the team at Merthyr Medical Centre.

Leon is the Director of Merthyr Medical Centre. Leon graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery and has been practicing in the New Farm for over 30 years. Leon has a special interest in preventative health, chronic disease management, mental health, sexual health, men’s health and dermatology issues.

Sima completed her medical studies in Iran and received her Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021. Sima has a holistic approach to the patients and enjoys all aspects of general practice. Sima’s special interests include chronic illnesses, skin cancer medicine, women’s health, paediatrics and mental health.

Hugh graduated from the University of Queensland and has worked as a GP in Ipswich and Brisbane over the past 20 years. He is interested in all aspects of General Practice and has a particular interest in skin cancer management including minor surgical procedures for skin cancer. Hugh has a post-graduate qualification in sclerotherapy for varicose vein treatment.

Amanda graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. She has worked at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. Before returning to Brisbane Amanda was practicing as a GP in Gunnedah Hospital and at North West Family Medical in Gunnedah.

Jamie graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery and became a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2000. Jamie has spent 22 years working as a GP and has been practicing at Merthyr Medical Centre for 17 years. Jamie has a special interest in preventative health, chronic disease management, men’s health, dermatology issues and travel medicine.

Kate has been an accredited practicing Dietitian for over 27 years and provides nutritional assessment, counselling and lifestyle coaching for a range of health issues. Kate has a special interest in paediatric and family health, allergies, weight management, diabetes, gastro-intestinal problems, heart, liver and kidney disease.
