Iron Infusions

If you're experiencing symptoms related to low iron levels or iron deficiency anaemia, your doctor may recommend an iron infusion as part of your treatment. During your consultation, the doctor will assess your iron levels and discuss whether this treatment is appropriate for you. If suitable, an appointment will be scheduled in the following days.

The infusion itself takes approximately 20 minutes, followed by a 30-minute observation period to monitor for any potential reactions.

Iron infusions are a safe and effective way to rapidly restore iron levels when oral supplementation is not suitable or effective.

All iron infusions require an initial consultation with a doctor. During this appointment, your doctor will explain the iron infusion process and may arrange blood tests to assess your iron levels and confirm whether an infusion is required.

If an iron infusion is recommended, your doctor will provide you with a prescription for the iron, which must be collected from the pharmacy prior to your infusion appointment.
